Work is to begin next year. Construction of Linhardt’s technology centre is postponed by twelve months, to ensure sustainability for our solvency and financial margins.LINHARDT’s new Technology Centre, planned for the Viechtach location, is intended to house the tool workshop and our Research and Development department. However, the beginning of work on this four million euro investment has now been postponed by one year so as to retain a greater margin in the current economic climate.
Sustainable planning "Not building the new technology centre just now - this decision isn’t an emergency reaction, but the opposite. We want to act for sustainability towards our employees and customers, which includes securing our solvency and our financial scope," emphasises manager Walter Schlicht. The project is in the drawer and ready to go, including all permits, plans and tenders. "We only have to press the button at a more suitable time."
"The decision was made in agreement with the advisory board, the shareholders, and the workers’ council. In the face of a shrinking order backlog as well as the general economic turbulence, such a project is considered unsuitable for the current time - a time in which we must aim at avoiding unnecessary risks," says manager Dr. Monika Kopra-Schäfer. The final word is not yet spoken regarding the technology centre, because the basic decision remains. The management wants to be sure that nobody views this postponement as a sign of weakness - this year, just for a new can production line and continuing modernisation of all systems, LINHARDT will be investing six million euros at its various locations even without the new building. |
